The Circus of Horrors (Opens in separate tab) is a British-based contemporary circus created by Dr. John Haze and Gerry Cottle and first seen performing at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995. Blending horror, black comedy and rock and roll with circus acts, it uses goth and steampunk imagery, and references Victorian freak shows and burlesque. They describe themselves as "Alternative Circus with Bizarre & unbelievable acts from an almighty cast & performed to live rock music." on their Facebook page.

As a birthday treat, I was taken to see the Circus of Horrors a couple of years ago and we were lucky enough to have front row seats. Prior to the show, I contacted the circus to enquire about taking photographs and was advised that as long as I didn't use flash, they were happy for me to shoot at the show.

These are the results - well, some of them - there were far too many to publish them all and even this gallery is so large I've had to split it into a number of pages. Click on the photo of « Dr Haze to the left to go to page one or on the links below for any page.
